GENERAL DVD INFO:
This DVD is a slight departure from the VGL series which normally deals with teaching rhythm and lead lines to some of
the worlds greatest classic rock tunes. This DVD does not teach any songs
or licks! It is a preliminary discussion about the basics of classic guitar tone
and the things that go into getting great classic rock tones. Most of the
ideas presented are objective general knowledge but some parts of the topic are
very subjective so when dealing with TONE one must keep in mind that there is no
1 'right' way. The opinions expressed are soley that of the instructor and
as always - your mileage may vary. :) If you
GUITAR TONE DVD: This DVD is mainly divided into 2 categories: A Discussion/Information/Lecture part and demo sections covering examples of several tube amps and the sound patch creation software used in the GNX4 modeling systems. This DVD does not go into all the various stomp boxes and outboard effects that can be used to color and shape guitar tone, (although some basic overdrive and delay pedals are discussed with regard to effects loops.) This DVD deals with the main parts of the 'core' of great guitar tone and 'the tone chain' from the player, guitar (makes/pickup type/etc), and amplification systems (digital modeling vs tube amps).
