Joe Walsh has also been on my list for a while and a few people have been waiting for this one. He was another big influence on my early playing and doing this DVD reminded me why and I see his style show up often in my live improvisational leads. This series normally does not try to focus excessively on lead work as its target is intermediate (+/-) wanting to learn complete songs but I have begun adding more n4n transcriptions as more people have requested them. There is a wide variety of 'meat' with Joe - simple blues based great chord progressions juxtaposed with acoustic finger-style picking, sweet melodic and harmony leads and some great slide and blues licks too. Some slide is covered as required for some licks in Rocky Mtn Way using slide techniques in Open D tuning. However, as some may not be ready for slide, some picking and lead technique for simulated slide sound is discussed and shown.
